Rev. Orrell Battersby Senior Pastor
Orrell, along with his wife Christine, came to Gympie in May 2021. His brief is to transition the church to a ‘better normal’ in the midst of COVID 19.
Orrell’s passion has been planting and developing new Churches, but at this juncture he is looking forward to this new challenge of, what in essence is a replanting of this regional church.
He has served in three countries on three different Continents and has a Master of Arts degree and a Master of Ministry degree.
Before his decision to study for ministry in his mid-twenties, Orrell’s background was in art and design.
He and Christine have a son, daughter and six (soon to be seven) grandchildren.
Pastor Jim Hall
Jim can trace his Christian heritage back many generations. He was challenged at a conference with the statement “God has no spiritual grandchildren” ~ he responded to the call of having his own relationship with Jesus Christ. As a Primary School teacher, Jim was posted to many Queensland locations ~ Tewantin was his last school and is the place his three daughters know as home. During this time, Jim actively participated in church life. He has had many leadership experiences ~ in school, church and the community and has experienced God’s favour on them all. Jim has a love for Jesus, His Word and for people. He is passionate about the local church, believing she is the hope of the world today and that, when the church functions in the power of the Holy Spirit and lives on the Word, it will thrive. Jim looks forward to seeing you at church, at coffee gatherings or participating in Alpha.
